Pupil Voice at Foxhill

School Council

The School’s Council is an ideal opportunity for pupils to get more involved in the way the school is run. The School Council benefits the whole school, pupils and teachers, because it provides opportunities for pupils to communicate their feelings as well as influence decisions that are made.

Councillors develop skills such as confidence, communication and negotiation. It is the responsibility of each Councillor to ensure that they express both their own views and the views of all the other pupils they represent.

Who can be a member of the School’s Council?

We have an active School’s Council with a boy and girl representing their fellow pupils from Class 3 to Class 6. At the start of the Year, the 2 representatives are voted in.

Well Being Champions

Our Well-Being Championships have been training with Bradford Mental Health Team on how to support other children in School. They know what personal qualities they need to help others.

House Captains

House Captains are voted from Year 6. They are the heads of the KS2 houses named after local famous people: Hockney, Cook and Shaw.

The House Captains help to organise the behaviour and rewards system in Key Stage 2. Children earn house points for all their positive behaviour and a weekly achievement assembly reveals each week's winner.

The children's houses are used for other competitions in Key Stage two, where the captains help to organise and run the teams.

Sports Captains

Our Sports Captains help to organise sporting events like competitions, Sports Day and sponsored sporting events. They help to encourage team spirit too! They work closely with Mr Linsel, our PE Leader.

Reading Ambassadors

Reading Ambassadors promote a love of reading alongside Mrs Griffin. They organise the library, read to younger children in School, produce floor books of recommended authors and promote reading activities in School.

Digital Leaders

Our Digital Leaders work with Mrs Dean, the Computing Leader, to support technology in School. They judge competitions, organise our equipment, present information to children and help to organise  Computing events.

Curriculum Leaders

Our Year 6 Curriculum Leaders have expressed an interest in a curriculum subject. They help the staff subject leader to monitor how children are learning in each subject across the School. They may help with book studies, talk to children about their knowledge or find out children's views on each subject's lessons at School.
