In the event of adverse weather conditions, we will contact parents by text daily to confirm if school is open. This text will arrive as soon as possible, once we can ensure we have sufficient staff, that heating is functioning and lunches can be provided. A message will also be posted on our website home page.
Even when school is open, you must still be sure that it is safe for you to make the journey to school with your children. We will authorise the absence if you feel it is unsafe to do so.
We intend to organise arrival at School with Nursery, Reception, Years 1 and 2 coming in via KS1 playground and years 3,4,5 and 6 coming through the front entrance. If at all possible we’ll continue with this to help maintain social distancing when snow procedures are necessary. On bad weather days when school has managed to open, we will always update parents ASAP if conditions worsen and parents need to collect their children from school/ Fox Club earlier. On such days school will authorise absences when parents feel it is unsafe to travel to and from school or need to make alternative arrangements
Children can go straight through to classes when they arrive and take off their outdoor clothing/shoes in the classroom.
After School clubs may be cancelled in bad weather if it is deemed advisable for staff or pupils to start the journey home.
