Our Community

Community Events in Action

At Foxhill Primary School, we value the importance of developing strong links between the school and our local community. Through visits, assemblies, concerts and special events, we involve pupils in the local community, so that they learn how to participate in a practical way in the life and concerns of their neighbourhood and communities. Working with parents, local residents, the business community, public services, and voluntary services teaches the children to become active citizens.  It is important that Foxhill Primary School, its children, staff and governors are recognised as part of the local and wider community.

We strive to broaden our children's experiences through a wide range of events:

  • Linking school network

  • Choir performances within the community (Goodwin House/Tesco)

  • Working closely with our PCSO

  • Regular visits to our local care home Goodwin House

  • Visits/performances in our local church

  • Assemblies in school by our local Reverend

  • Year 6 Remembrance event

  • Class trips to local museums/art galleries/Piece Hall

  • Performances from the famous Black Dyke Band in school

  • Author visits to school

  • Local Art projects

  • Links with our Great Heights partner schools for a wide range of tournaments

  • Support the local food bank with food donations and in return they support our families with weekly donations delivered to school

  • Donations and support from our  community that enable us to fund projects e.g OPAL and developing areas within school

  • Active PTA and parents who support us in running many school events
