Hearing them read as often as possible and asking comprehension questions (We will send question ideas home.)
Helping them to learn their spellings – little and often is best using the Look, Cover, Say, Write, Check method.
Support them with their homework as much as needed – feel free to write a message in the book.
Encourage their independence now they are in KS2.
Practise telling the time and encourage the use of joined up handwriting.
